I recently had
the incredible opportunity to speak at the Tampa Girl Scout’s MIND FOR DESIGN
program and let me tell you it was an amazing experience! Upon arriving at the program, I was extremely
elated to see fifty young women ranging from 6th grade to 12th
grade interested in learning about all aspects of the design process. The program’s goal was to develop women
engineers who have a passion for the design process, wherein the program educated
the young women on how to improve our world through design from the moment the
concept enters the mind of the designing expert to the time the finished product
is ready for the consumer. My role in
the program was to speak to the young women about Intellectual Property and to
explain the different roles that Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, and Trade
Secrets play in the design process. I
was extremely honored to have been able to participate in such a wonderful,
innovative and inspiring program for the female leaders of our tomorrow!
